9 Questions With Luna Li on 'jams 2' [Q&A]
Luna Li is an artist we can’t get enough of. Fearless, multi-talented with multi-dimensional vision, she defies easy definition and has an output that is clearly about creation and authenticity. Wanting to stay attuned to this prodigious talent, we reached out to Li after her latest compilation, jams 2, in the hopes of keeping up with all she has going on.
Ones To Watch: What's changed about you since we last caught up?
Luna Li: I've been traveling and touring a lot, working on new music, and having a great summer!
What is jams 2 all about?
The jams are a celebration of spontaneity in my practice - I never put too much pressure on them or overthink it. I've also branched out on this one to include some collaborations on this one which was exciting.
Why jams 2? Were you sitting on a bunch of music, or is it a continuation of sorts?
jams 2 is definitely a continuation of the jams EP - some more short instrumentals that I've created since the last jams release.
Some great collaborators, how’d that come about?
I reached out to them online and we sent files back and forth remotely until the song came to a place we were both happy with! It was a really fun and relaxed way to collaborate.
Who produced the EP?
I produced it myself and co-produced the collaborations.
Can we expect a jams 3 is this always gonna be a trend for you?
There are no plans for jams 3 as of now, but I can definitely see that happening in the future!
Besides this excellent EP, what else should we be on the lookout for?
Lots of touring coming up - I have a US tour happening this month with Wolf Alice as well as some headline shows, and my first ever Europe tour is happening in November!
What's inspiring you right now outside of music?
Traveling and meeting new people, falling in love with new places and faces.

I have some wonderful friends in music who are making really amazing art right now - Hope Tala, Grace Inspace, Mother Tongues, Deanna Petcoff.
