Sweetly dreary, Biig Piig’s “4AM†ushers in a new era. Her first single this year and a taste of her upcoming debut album, it’s clear the Irish songstress is ready to give the people what they want—on her own terms.

However, it’s in one’s genetic makeup to crave touch, community, and platonic and romantic connection. “I know you don’t want to be alone, ‘cause no one does,†is the heartbeat of the track, as Biig Piig consoles herself through the dreadful quiet. She shares that it was a mantra that anchored her in times of great loneliness, continuing, “‘4AM’ is a track about isolation, loneliness, finding yourself at the end of a tether and being like, ‘How did I get here?’ The chorus to me is something I felt I needed to hear at the time. That even at your loneliest point, you’re not alone.â€
“4AM†blurs the lines between electronic and dark indie, Biig Piig’s signature concoction.
