Gorillaz Taps slowthai and Slaves for a Bit of "Momentary Bliss"

Gorillaz have spent the last few days teasing their new project Song Machine, and now that first episode is here... we're still quite unsure exactly what to make of it but consider us all in. The first taste of the forthcoming project arrives as a bit of "Momentary Bliss," a single, video, and series of skits that sees the virtual band taking a more nonchalant approach to collaborations.

Joined by slowthai and Slaves, the new video for momentary bliss sees a casual jam session flit between virtual, animated, and rapturous. The unexpected outing between one of UK's most infamous bands and some of the UK's wildest upstarts is set to be the first in a line of forthcoming collaborations. As Gorillaz' drummer Russel shared in a previous statement, "We don't even know who's stepping through the studio next."

In addition to the new single that perfectly captures the synapses-firing-on-all-cylinders adrenaline rush of a nigh-perfect jam session, "Momentary Bliss" is accompanied by a series of audio clips - "Machine Bitez." The clips in question feature members of the virtual band discussing everything from how they met Slaves in an Aldi supermarket, what slowthai got for Christmas, and what exactly is "Momentary Bliss."
