The name to remember is Josef Kuhn, more precisely Jos. With summer in eyeshot, the Nashville newcomer is aptly stepping into the limelight. Today sees the release of "Ahead," his very first single via Acrophase Records.

"Ahead" is a breezy track built for effortless backyard days, and listening to it will easily be the best three minutes of your day. Free-flowing chords and emotive lyrics add to overall effortlessly feel-great atmosphere of the track.  The 19-year-old's youth drives him; he writes about the things he knows and does it well. Jos expounded on “Ahead's" deeper meaning, sharing with us,

"[It's] about a feeling I have pretty often - when you get so caught up in your head and your future worries that you don't let yourself relax and try something new. It's about taking that chance to let yourself enjoy life for what it is, without any interruptions or worries."

To Jos, in the strictest sense, influences don't really matter. In his own words he "cross pollinates," drawing upon the music of Phoebe Bridgers, Tame Impala, and Isaiah Rashad for inspiration. "Ahead" is a perfect example of that, a sound without limits or inhibition. Still its thick snares, sweet harmonies, and acoustic riffs are all a swift spin on the genreless genre.  With two more singles to come, 2020 is set to be a big year for Jos.
