When the energy and lyrics of a song align with your current life situation, it resonates on a whole other level. That could not be more true with the Wallows' new single "OK,"  a heartening bop that will likely hit home for you, no matter where you are in the world.

Wallows is made up of three childhood best friends, Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston who, together, masterfully employ unique blends of both indie rock and pop.

The talented trio is sharing an important message through "OK."  With the hook lyric, "can we get up and try to feel okay again?" the song was initially intended as an honest, anthemic pop tune about teaming up with your partner to help them snap out of any insecurities about the relationship. As they describe it, "'OK' is a song about... having a hard time accepting something that feels 'too good to be true,' but overall learning to embrace it and accept the love you're receiving and focusing on returning it."

However, the timing of the song's release into the world magnifies its meaning through an entirely different lens. As the band continues, "Now, given the state of the world and the health crisis we happen to be in... the song's release… takes on a new meaning/purpose for people... The thought that no matter where we are or how alone/lost we feel right now, we can get up again and try to feel OK. We're in it together."

"OK" is a reminder of music's ability to support people through difficult times. The beauty of music is that even if a song's original intended message is different from the message received by the audience, it can still spread hope, raise spirits, and help enhance people's perspectives for the better. Perhaps it is also a reminder that ultimately, we will all be "OK."
