Abhi The Nomad Thinks You and The Planet Are Both "BTFL" [PREMIERE]

Abhi The Nomad is so purposeful – his rhymes go deeper than most. The globe trotter, after which his artist name originates, has a new message for us all. In the first two singles from his upcoming  Modern Trash  album, dropping this October, Abhi focused on themes of self love and the deterioration of our planet. Now with the release of his third single "BTFL" short for beautiful, he continues to rap about being unapologetically yourself; "My whole fit is hand me downs. I'm beautiful b*tch. My whole gang is the sh*t. We're beautiful."

It's an anthem built for a squad about to go out and take the town. With "BTFL" Abhi has created an uplifting bass-filled bop. Meant to be sung along to, the tune is an unexpected carefully crafted indie tinged hip hop banger made to be blasted both in the car and the club. Abhi told us,

"[It's] all of my confidence packed into 3 minutes - I don't wear designer clothes or chains or anything flashy, but I know I'm still fly. You don't gotta have money to be beautiful."

The concept of saving the planet is dear to Abhi. Through his travels, he's seen just how poorly humans have treated our planet. Thus, he says the mantra of Modern Trash is, "A cry to the planet. The same planet that is clearly crying out to us, to stop the destruction." Abhi believes that through his music, he can wake us all up to what's happening right outside.

Being the thoughtful and inquisitive world traveler that Abhi is, he's developed a deep appreciation for the earth as a whole. And though he hopes the state of the physical planet would get better, he believes "We can't save it all, but we can each do our part." The last thirty seconds of "BTFL" spotlight those thoughts. And it is a juxtaposition to the self-affirmational nature of the song, which focuses on the ever-present awesomeness of Abhi and his friends. In this, Abhi shows no regard for what others think of him - or other people at all really. The song's beginning seems satirical after you listen to the track as a whole. At the end, there's a sort of zoom out as Abhi looks upon a version of himself, a version oblivious to both his earthly surroundings and ridicule from others. This observational Abhi knows that none of 'this' really matters because something grander is occurring around him,

"And in this twisted time, I know the skies will fall.
But I won't save it all.
No it's not my calling.
Ooh ooh ooh."
