Cody Lovaas Re-Imagines "OH NO!" For "Acoustic Sessions From My Room'
It's time to get intimate with Cody Lovaas. The artist is rolling out acoustic versions of all of the songs off his EP Pull Out Couch, which was released in May. The compilation of videos is called the "Acoustic Sessions From My Room." Cody delivers stripped down performances allowing us to re-appreciate the songs for their tasteful songwriting and he's given us access to his heartfelt voice in a new, raw setting. Today, Cody released, "OH NO!", the second video installment after "Just So You Know". "OH NO!" features ROZES on the EP track. We've known it to be the perfect cool, pop song, but through this acoustic version we are illuminated by the softer, more easy-going trance the melodic song with its rhythmic guitar hooks you on. Cody's guitar playing and vocal delivery pair together effortlessly and demonstrate his musicianship as an artist. His fans can feel connected to his more serious side through engaging with these emotionally charged performances and simultaneously grow to adore Cody's funny and goofy persona he often portrays on his Instagram and other social media platforms.
Growing up in a small beach town in California, Cody is a professional songwriter whose written hundreds of songs before the age of twenty. His second EP, Pull Out Couch, documents Cody trying to figure himself out after a five-year long cat and mouse relationship challenged by geographical struggles. All five of the songs were written when Cody first moved to Los Angeles, and he was sleeping on his manager's pull out couch at the time. Cody's lyrics are honest and establish a comforting familiarity with his listeners.
