Ella Vos Imagines a World for the Girls in her New Single “National Anthem”

Ella Vos is imagining a better world in her new infectious single, “National Anthem." Joining a list of iconography, the track lives up to its name and offers a new perspective. The track teases her forthcoming studio album, ROSEBUDS, set to release on May 23rd. The LA native’s extensive discography explores a range of taboo topics, from postpartum depression to divorce, and more. In “National Anthem," she’s suggesting an easy path to a better future: letting girls run the world.

Vos has a super unique vocal tone, one that feels simultaneously familiar, yet obscure. It lends itself to a country sound, while feeling perfectly pop. The melody of the chorus in “National Anthem," with its deliciously classic guitar strum and happy-go-lucky attitude, hits immediately. As she describes an ideal world where feminine energy is the norm, Vos is writing her own version of history. The production is straight from a fairytale, while also evoking the specific energy of early 2000’s optimistic pop.

On the making of the track, Vos shares that “‘National Anthem” is a "song to inspire everyone, not just women, to lead with their feminine spirit and lean into their sensitivity. I believe if we made decisions based on love and empathy, the world would truly be a better place.” Although the track holds the heavy weight of reality, the production and delivery are light as a feather to simulate what life would be like in this alternate reality.

“National Anthem” arrives just in time to anticipate the summer season and will make for a perfect playlist addition on breezy, sunny days. Ella Vos’ true personality shines in this track, as she’s saying what everyone is thinking in her own unique way. We can’t wait to hear how the new “National Anthem” fits into Vos’s upcoming ROSEBUDS record.
