“George F**** Strait" is Laci Kaye Booth’s Ode to the Cowboy of her Dreams

In her latest single, “George F****** Strait,” country singer-songwriter Laci Kaye Booth pays a sultry, slow-burning tribute to country music legend, and fellow Texan, George Strait. With smoky vocals over smooth, twangy guitars, the track blends classic country charm with modern songwriting overflowing with emotional sincerity. It’s a siren song that doesn’t just name-drop a legend, but builds a full-fledged love story around the kind of man Strait represents.

“George F****** Strait” is both sweet and spicy. While ultimately driven by yearning for the perfect southern romance, there’s also lust seamlessly woven through the song. Laci doesn’t shy away from bold innuendos, singing, “Come by it honest, how I pick ‘em / It’s in my roots that I want him in boots / Tie me up, I got a problem / And I know just the kinda lasso he can use.” Delivered with a wink, the lyrics perfectly match the track’s simmering, seductive production, proof that Booth knows exactly how to toe the line between playful and passionate.

Laci’s admiration isn’t just artistic—it’s over twenty years in the making. Laci, whose very first concert was George Strait in the nosebleed seats at Houston Livestock show and rodeo, is a lifelong devotee. “The majority of his music I’ve known by heart since I was a little girl,” she says, “This song is about admiring and loving a cowboy as he ages, with the prime example being the King of Country music.” Citing Strait’s timeless appeal, she sings, “God give me a man / That just gets better with age / Like George fucking Strait.” It’s a cheeky chorus that taps into a collective longing for something enduring, steady, and real while adding a figure that further solidifies listeners' understanding of Laci’s desire.

This summer, Laci is hitting the road. After kicking things off on June 7 at CMA Fest, she’ll be touring across the country, opening for Megan Moroney and Parker McCollum at select dates. Festival fans can also catch her at Ontario’s North of Nowhere Music Festival and Country Calling 2025 in Ocean City, MD.
