With a headline tour and debut album Raven on the horizon, Isabel LaRosa is giving us a glimpse of just what to expect. Her latest single, "Cry For You," sticks to her signature dreamy electropop sound, but the lyrics immediately tell a story all their own.

"Cry For You" touches on a feeling a lot of people sadly know all too well. LaRosa sings about the aftermath of being in a relationship with someone who hides behind the mask of being deep and introspective. She captures the moment of clarity when you realize the person you once put on a pedestal is more damaging than profound. “Don’t pretend you’re a tortured artist, all you did was torture me,” she sings. It speaks to anyone who’s experienced that all-too-familiar moment when you realize the tortured artist act isn’t poetic, it’s manipulative. This isn’t just a breakup song; it’s about outgrowing those dynamics, reclaiming your power, and seeing through the facade.

The track opens in typical LaRosa fashion, with a soft, airy sound that feels almost weightless. Unlike a lot of heartbreak anthems, she reflects on becoming heartless and cutthroat instead of wallowing in her own heartbreak. At just over two minutes, "Cry For You" does exactly what it needs to. It’s a clean, no-nonsense reminder of how far you’ve come from people who never deserved you in the first place.
