Whethan and STRFKR Embark on a Tron-Inspired Joyride in  "Stay Forever"

“You're going to see a lot of evolution, I've never stuck to one formula or one type of song, or even one genre," shares Whethan in an interview we conducted with dance's favorite wunderkind at the tail end of 2018. The declaration arrived ahead of the release of his first full-length body of work, 2018's Life of a Wallflower Vol. 1, and in many ways serves as a mission statement for Whethan as an artist. In the span of a few short years, we have seen the 20-year-old Chicago play to ecstatic crowds across the globe, collaborate with the likes of Dua Lipa and Flux Pavillion, and, most all, continue to experiment with and evolve his sound.

"Stay Forever" comes by way of this continual evolution. The new single and accompanying video follows the recent announcement of Whethan's highly-anticipated album, Fantasy, as well as a limited run of spring shows. Joining forces with indie pop band STRFKR, "Stay Forever" arrives as '80s-reminiscent joyride. The Tron-inspired video pairs perfectly with the vintage futuristic sonic elements that move at a mile a minute. Whethan could not have offered up a better first taste of what Fantasy has in store for us all.

Whethan has always existed as a sort of an electronic maverick. The producer found his start as a teenager, quickly going viral with a larger-than-life future house sound, and thus he has never really been given a chance to slow down. And given his desire to explore new soundscapes at each and every turn, never slowing down seems to be perfectly fine with him.
