Arms Akimbo Struts an Unconventional Dream in "Paycheck" [PREMIERE]

Indie-rock outfit Arms Akimbo have unveiled their infectious, passionate anthem entitled "Paycheck."   The melodic track features grungy guitars, pounding drums and hooky lyrics geared towards today's youth. The single functions as a thesis for 20-somethings figuring out life as they pursue an unconventional dream.

Peter  Schrupp of the band confided,

"We're all college graduates watching our peers around us succeeding in offices we would literally hate to be in. Every time I see that honestly I do question what I'm doing. That's probably the practicality my family instilled in me growing up in a suburb…That's what pushes me and my bandmates past that feeling that we should put ties and collared shirts back on just for a bit of stability."

An ode to the bandmates with a faith they'll make it, "Paycheck" focuses around that idea as well as the social aspect of justifying happiness. It's about those silly conversations with strangers chatting about career advancement as you try to convince yourself you’re happy. In the end, the song is a testament to that unsettling drowning feeling which is deeply relatable to listeners.

The four-piece Los Angeles natives have attained vast success touring with Walk The Moon, The Animals, and Said The Whale. Accumulating a huge fan base, they have slso sold out iconic LA venues such as the Troubadour. Consisting of Peter Schrupp, Christopher Kalli, Matthew Sutton and Colin Boppell, the boys Arms Akimbo are true creatives with innovative indie-rock resonating with the insecurities of today's generation.

"Paycheck" will be on their highly anticipated upcoming EP Seven Dollar Paycheck. Check out the single premiering exclusively with Ones to Watch:
