Confidence Is Key and SwaVay Has Plenty in "Who We Be" Video [PREMIERE]

In a music landscape that appears to favor singles over albums, storytelling lyricists can feel marginalized or pressured to conform to the popular sound. Thankfully, SwaVay does things on his own terms. The Atlanta native balances his skills as a gifted rapper and producer to create refreshing, lyrically-sound hip-hop. His implementation of an array of sounds along with his malleable voice creates a dynamic yet cohesive offering every time. We are honored to premiere the music video for his song, "Who We Be," right here on Ones To Watch.

Relying on his calm, cool and collected demeanor, SwaVay delivers a stoic performance with a sermon-like testimonial. The video is straight forward, no gimmicks or antics, just a Metro Boomin cameo and unadulterated lyrics rapped directly to the camera. Doubters you've been warned. Exuding a quiet confidence and firm self-awareness the sole Boominati (Metro's label) signee makes his goals known, "We been came with an objective, mean we can't be swayed/ I know exactly what I want, my mind can't be changed." The multifaceted artist spoke on the meaning behind "Who We Be," sharing,

"'Who We Be' is my most liberating song. It's me telling myself to embrace who I AM. The DMX interpolation was the icing on the cake for me because I feel his liberation in that song as well and it just so happened to fit."

SwaVay's latest video serves as the second record to receive the visual treatment from his recently released debut album, Pure Infinity. The album, in short, is a storied journey filled with heavenly-highs and heartbreaking-lows that ultimately characterizes SwaVay's resiliency as an artist. With more than 10,000 hours under his belt, SwaVay appears to be hungrier than ever and ready for whatever the world has in store for him.
