Lindsey Lomis Finds Her Strength on "Bones"
Following up on her Altadena/Warner Records debut, Lindsey Lomis sets the tone with her newest single "Bones". At just 17, this Amy Winehouse-esq artist is starting to gain tons of traction with her powerful vocal ability and mature songwriting. Taking the industry by surprise, Lomis is bound to become something really special.
"Bones" narrates a dark tale of manipulation and misrepresentation. With the goal of empowerment and being able to speak to the ones who are struggling to speak up for themselves, Lomis wants to be the voice of reason. A message many can't even express far beyond her years. Lomis explains her experiences and why she carries this message on high and proud,
“The song has an upbeat mood despite a dark story. I'm calling someone out for trying to manipulate me through their lies. In the end, they've dug their own grave, where they 'lie' alone. I hope people feel empowered from this song. Sometimes even when you want to help someone, you can tell they're taking advantage of you. To me it's sassy and about standing up for yourself. From the lyrics to the whole vibe of the song, it just makes me feel like a badass.”
Despite the dark and powerful message, Lomis and co-writer Ryan Daly [Fitz & The Tantrums, James Arthur, We The Kings] wanted to keep the vibe upbeat and intriguing. The song is unlike music most artists are currently releasing. From the ringing of the grand piano, to the deep drums, the song is bound to get you amped up. They take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, especially when we get to the bridge. The song slows down and focuses on her vocal ability, and right when you believe the song is going to end, it explodes for one more compelling chorus. Lindsey Lomis is finding her sound with every release, and we truly believe she's found it with her latest "Bones".
