If you need a minor key, lush, sad song to get you through another long workday, then the latest from PRYVT will be a perfect compliment to a midday hot tea. This Canadian-based, Discord-born group has been celebrated since its inception, and their fans' curiosity got us feeling much of the same. Afraid to feel like we are getting left out, we reached out to the duo via the pixelated mail to dig into their latest single, inspirations, and more.

OnesToWatch: Who is PRVYT?

PRYVT: We’re a band from Vancouver. We (Hanuel and JT) write, produce, mix, and master everything in-house.

How’d you both come together as a group?

We met in music school in Vancouver and built PRYVT when we were burnt out and exploring new sounds aside from the Hanuel project.

What is "PALETTE" all about?

"PALETTE" is a song about meeting somebody you’re interested in for the first time. It’s similar to the phrase “love at first sight” and about what you feel in the moment.

We love the video. Where did you shoot this one?

In our hometown, Vancouver in some of the more iconic locations.

 Any creative help? Who directed?

Shout out Pam Vinlaka, Harrry Sung, Junno Pak, and Seb Syrota. They’re the main people helping us bring the creative vision to life.

How do you feel your sound has evolved or changed since your debut album?

We’ve tailored the album towards a live sound - more intimate and personal.

Besides this excellent video, what else should we be on the lookout for?

We have a new album, BACK TO REALITY, coming out later this year, as well as more visuals on the way.

What's inspiring you right now outside of music?

Pixar. We’ve been in love with the movie Cars

Give us the best food recommendation while on set?

Mott’s Fruitstations are out of this world, shoutout Mott’s.

Who are your OnesToWatch?

Our friend Highvyn is making some moves right now.
