Looking for the perfect indie-rock tune to cry to is no easy task, but Sir Chloe has taken up the challenge. The three-piece group is fronted by Dana Foote, who formed the band during her fourth year of university. The band, which features Palmer Foote on drums and Teddy O'Mara on guitar, first sparked buzz with their acclaimed debut effort, Party Favors, which featured the standout hit "Michelle." Sir Chloe's latest single, the aptly-titled "Mercy," is a grief-filled wail complete with compelling melodies and unapologetic lyrics.

While “Mercy" might lull you into a false sense of security with its deceptive, lullaby-esque melody, Foote's vocals quickly escalate into a scream-like sonic catharsis as she surges into the chorus. A culmination of raw emotion, Foote's vocals reverberate through the outro as she cries out, "Mеrcy, are you still with me? / I’ll give you anything / Takе it all the way / Mercy, can you forgive me?" Matching the turbulent yet controlled energy that her lyrics deliver, the band's use of boisterous drums that mimic an unrelenting heartbeat and emphatic guitar riffs captivate the listener in a way that simply cannot be ignored.

Sir Chloe, who is currently on tour in support of alt-J and Portugal. the Man, will be embarking on a headlining tour May 6, kicking off at New York's iconic Bowery Ballroom.
