Asia Holiday’s “Sweet Tea” is a Feel-Good Anthem

Asia Holiday’s latest single, “Sweet Tea,” is a feel-good, genre-stacking anthem that solidifies Asia’s promise as an up-and-coming artist. Asia, both an actress and a musician, has a passion for performing that is clear through her sound, or what she fittingly describes as “theme songs that boost your confidence.”

She’s right, the lyrics are also well-suited for a girl who knows her worth. From “spill the tea about me physically I am she,” to “I am the G O A tea.” Asia also cleverly utilizes the word “tea” and its various meanings, for example: its use in popular phrases like “clock that tea” and as a pronunciation for the letter “t”, like in “fa so la tea.”

The production uses multiple different instrumentals layered, making “Sweet Tea” a sonically interesting single that fuses genres like pop, rap, and R&B. There are clear sonic influences and inspirations; however, it’s such a blend you can’t quite place it, making this something Asia can call her own as well as a track that will appeal to different types of listeners. Despite the switching of styles, Holiday’s addictive vocals are not to be missed, peeking in and out through multiple riffs and runs.

Asia, despite being new to releasing music, has already dropped six singles this year and will release her debut EP, Divine Timing, on September 26th.
