Montell Fish's "Hotel" Is a Haunting, Hypnotic Affair

The first single following Montell Fish's lauded debut album Jamie, “Hotel” is a pensive ballad that sinks into the feeling of loneliness and the people we use as vices.

After his Jimmy Fallon debut and announcing a nearly sold-out 10-day tour, New York’s Montell Fish is making a habit of turning heads. His ease for captivation is seemingly effortless, infusing immersive soundscapes with faith and existential introspection. He’s reviving what The Weeknd left behind, making music that confronts pain and holds humble hands with grief. There are little deaths we mourn every day, from relationships to our own desires, and Montell Fish finds pleasure in building intimacy with life’s contrast.

Melancholic and lucid, “Hotel” was born from a destination-less venture. He was exploring the edges of his production and vocal ability, getting lost in the birth of something beautiful. “Hotel” honors the density of Montell’s catalog, while also bearing witness to how he’s evolving as an artist.

All that he produces holds his entire heart, each song serving as a display of his soul in a glass box. It’s music crafted for late-night drives, where your only company is you and your subconscious, and as he continues to craft his trilogy project and embark on the 'A Night With A Ghost' tour, we’ll continue to see ourselves reflected back in the overflowing humanity and spirituality of his work.
