EMELINE Rediscovers Herself in the Irresistible  "cinderella's dead"

Happily ever after. It's a sentiment that is ubiquitous with closing credit scenes, a Disney-strewn fantasy that can be yours too if you just find your prince or princess charming. And yet, to rapidly rising pop artist EMELINE, the notion of happily ever after has a critical addendum - the rejection of having to lose yourself to obtain some semblance of a fairytale ending, and instead recognizing that happily ever after is something found by grasping your freedom and realizing your self-worth. Or at least that's the case made by the artist's biting new single, "cinderella's dead"

"cinderella's dead" follows on the viral success of singles "this is how i learn to say no" and "flowers & sex" to deliver a moment of cathartic pop perfection. "I forgot I was a bad bitch / Tragic," sings EMELINE in a self-confident lilt that doubles as hook dying to get stuck in your head and reaffirming mantra. Pair that with production that blurs the line between seductive R&B and cinematic, dark pop, and you have an irresistible anthem to rediscovering yourself and hedonism.

"cinderella's dead is the rejection to my past self,“ says EMELINE. "It's no longer accepting mistreatment and pleasing others at my own expense. It's coming out of the darkness from a relationship that made me forget my worthiness. It's the moment where I remember how it felt to love myself and my life before the relationship even happened and meet a newer me.  It's the killing of old patterns and rejoice in the freedom of what life can be - one that is anything I want it to be, with my days and nights taking me anywhere they may."

As EMELINE lays cinderella to rest in favor of nights out at the club that culminate in new friends and bubble baths, she in turn ushers into life the next chapter of an intoxicating pop force to be reckoned with.
