Ferby Delivers a Bewitching Sophomore Effort With "Every Night"

Can the pixels of our imagination, the digital footprints of our suspect emotions coalesce into our humanoid form? For Ferby, this may be the case—an artist whose persona is equally laden with talent and matrix-like panache for internet music. Hailing from a small but abundantly creative town in New Zealand, Ferby admits to needing to live the Hannah Montana life as a motivator to getting into music. That and inspiration from a musical community, including her bother Ben Woods, led to the decision to stop being intimidated, to rid herself of her shy tendencies. Embracing her cartoonish artist proxy and the ability to “say weird gross shit,” Ferby was born.

A proper collage of influences, "Every Night" has a nuanced romantic edge to it; a song born of a shitty relationship, it ultimately finds its happiness amongst friends. Avoiding the drifty behaviors of the fuckboi, Ferby instead finds the comfort, safety, and love one would normally attribute to a romantic partner in her community.

The trap production, meme-adjacent lyrical riddles, and a proper staccato cadence bake into the song a sexy effervescence, an ecstatic turbulence that speaks to her love of video game soundtracks. "Every Night is a proper tune and one that sets ups up the listener for attentive curiosity, not just for this song, but for every night it stays with you as you dream in pixel dust.
