Today we're taking you 60 miles east of Los Angeles to the underground scene of San Bernardino with Foliage's remarkably prodigious stylings. The 21-year-old mastermind behind Foliage, Manuel Joseph Walker independently writes, records, and produces his indie pop discography out of his modest bedroom. With three impressive records to his name, Foliage is undeniably making waves as a contemporary Chicano indie musician destined for greatness. As he gears up for his forthcoming album, Foliage is offering us a gratifying snippet of the project with the invigorating "Pattern."

Staying true to his DIY method, Foliage recorded the vocals, guitars, and keyboards for "Pattern" live, as we can confirm by simply listening to the first few bars. "Pattern" sees Foliage experimenting with a more intimate approach to songwriting, which is highlighted by the vulnerability he showcases throughout this restful track. With an 80s guitar pop vibe, "Pattern" slowly drags us into the intriguing inner-workings of Foliage's mind as he explores his complex relationship with mental health.

On "Pattern," Foliage exclusively shared with us,

"It's about my own battles with mental illness, specifically OCD. It's something I've struggled with my whole life and have never known how to express my feelings about until now."

Ones To Watch has your first listen of Foliage's "Pattern" below:
