Stephen Puth's Heart is "Half Gone" Following a Failed Relationship

In his past, Stephen Puth has explored many different interests–from being a history major in college, to having a job in finance, to a songwriting career– and it seems that he has finally found his calling. He has recently broken away from writing songs for others, such as The Vamps, Pretty Much, and Jack and Jack, to focus on himself, and we are so thankful. With a voice as flawless as his brother's, Charlie Puth, Stephen Puth is making waves with his creative lyrics and catchy melodies.

His debut single, "Sexual Vibe," was an intimate preview of Puth as an artist. His sophomore single, "Half Gone," contrasts with the subject of "Sexual Vibe," proving his versatility. "Half Gone" focuses on the bitter end of a relationship, when you feel as if half of your heart has vanished, stolen by the other person. Puth shared on Twitter that "Half Gone" is about "how every time you try to find love you're always giving a piece of your heart away."  His classical training in piano and self-taught guitar skills are put to good use in the beautiful, poppy melody.

Puth released a music video for "Half Gone" alongside the single, and it depicts every stage of his relationship. From falling in love and all the good moments, to the eventual fighting and breakup, Puth walks us through his relationship. Puth reminisces on all the memories as he sings, alone with his guitar, at the roller rink where he gave his heart to her.

Puth's highly anticipated debut album is expected later in 2019. Until then, we will be crying to "Half Gone" on repeat.
