Augustine's divine writing is so pure and innocent that it's almost impossible not to sit there in constant awe. His latest single "Summer Wine" arrives as a succinct piano ballad that captures the essence of sitting out on the back porch with a glass of rosé and reminiscing on a relationship gone too quickly. In just a mere two minutes, Augustine sweeps us off our feet yet again.

The Swedish indie-pop darling continues to welcome us into his personal life with the power of intimacy and affection. During a time where things began to get brighter, the world began to open up again, and life seemed to be returning to normal, Augustine was left feeling more distant than ever. Looking back on the times with someone he once was able to call his love, he tells the story of how easy it is to take those feelings for granted. It's a classic tale of not knowing what you have until it's gone.

Augustine explains that this song came from a place of grief and desolation, "'Summer Wine' is about feeling trapped in the aftermath of a breakup with someone that means the world. I was deep in self-pity when I wrote it and struggled to find direction, but looking back at it now, I also see a side of it that is very warm and filled with love. The piano loop had been with me for a while, and I wrote the lyrics on a train ride to my family's house. Later on, we recorded it through an analog Telefunken tape machine to add a little nostalgic feel to the song... The weather got brighter each day and people seemed so happy and hopeful, but I felt more distant than ever. 'Trying out our summer wine' became a symbol for the little things that you took for granted with someone, until it's over and you just can't get them out of your head."

The simplicity behind the production gives the track a warm, cinematic atmosphere. Augustine brings his bittersweet vision to life as his fingers dance upon the keys of his piano and he pours his heart and soul into every word he utters.

It's not every day a song is able to put you in a trance of emotion, but it seems as if every song of Augustine's is capable of just that. Regardless of if the track makes you want to dance, smile, laugh, or cry, he has a way with writing that is simply able to break through every barrier and profoundly connect to the underlying emotion at hand. And Augustine's "Summer Wine" is just another testament to this miraculous artistry.
