Charlotte Sands Explores Transcending Love On New Single "Afterlife" | THE NOISE

Charlotte Sands further cements her reputation as a boundary-pushing force in alt-pop on her latest single, "Afterlife." Equal parts euphoric and haunting, the song explores love in its most eternal form. With its soaring hooks, electrified production, and undeniable emotional depth, it's an anthem for anyone who's ever believed in soulmates, fate, or the infinite pull of love.

The song kicks off with Sand's powerful vocals leading the chorus alongside muted guitar riffs. This intro immediately propels the listener into the vulnerable and intimate nature of the track, inviting them to embark on an emotional journey. She describes what it is like to find warmth and familiarity in someone in a time of need and how magnetic it can feel, singing, "Promise that you'll find me/ Somewhere on the other side/ We can keep on trying/ Someday, we might get it right/ If there's no survivors and we don't make it out alive/ Promise that you'll find me somewhere in the afterlife."

At the end of the hook, the instrumentation subtly builds before breaking into the bass-heavy verse. The production swiftly transitions to a melodious rap style, highlighting the poetic lyrics and the artist's versatility. The sudden change catches the listener off guard, drawing them deeper into the complex track. When the chorus returns, the pop-rock style resumes, accompanied by a complete production featuring drums and an electric guitar. In the post-chorus, Sands vocalizes with stunning falsettos, showcasing her impeccable range.

"It's about a connection so deep it feels eternal, like your souls have met a thousand times before, in every universe and across every timeline," Charlotte shares. "It's about the rare and beautiful certainty that no matter what this lifetime holds, you'll always find your way back to each other again — in the next life, and in every one after that."

The new track is Sands' third single of the year, coming just under two months after the debut of her previous song, "neckdeep," which she celebrated the release of during the Nashville stop of idobi Radio's Summer School Tour. While on this tour, she also played Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach and is slated to play Warped Tour in Orlando in November. Just a couple of days before, she is opening for 3OH!3 on November 13 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville.
