gabby start's "the fractal song" Is a Love Letter to Math, Drugs, and Hyperpop

I love shapes, you love shapes, we all love shapes. Every day I wake up and thank god for shapes. Circle, triangle, square, you name it. Despite the light and love that shapes bring me, I live in a sad truth, one where I know that society's love of shapes is declining. Over the past few years, teens have been spending less time loving shapes and more time loving hyperpop. Soundcloud's creative scene has made countless new genres over the past six years, but how many new shapes can you name? Probably none.

Thankfully, a very special artist has come to bridge the gap between generations old and new, a harbinger of peace known as gabby start (fka Knapsack). The young producer and performing prodigy synthesizes elements of rock, pop, and electronic music in sacred harmony to create something brand new, a banger known to us as "the fractal song".

Singing about the pitfalls of drug-use and romantic tension, our hero seems more concerned with "lyrics" and "meaning" than, say, the graceful geometry of a menger sponge (a fractal). That's fine though, because "the fractal song" is a hard-hitting serving of 2022 ingenuity. With a melancholy visual to amplify the track's bleak energy, you'll be sure to have it in your weekly rotation in no time.

If you're a fan of artists like aldn or glaive, then gabby start should be the next hyperpop artist on your radar. Though "the fractal song" is only the second track from the young NYU's newest moniker, the level of skill gabby start showcases parallels even the most decorated hyperpop greats.
